ABBE On Construction Domestic Energy Assessor (Classroom)

Course length 5 Days
Suitable for New entrants with no previous energy assessment experience
Qualifications ABBE Level 3 Domestic On-Construction Energy Assessment

Elmhurst’s 4 day On Construction Domestic Energy Assessors (OCDEA) qualification course is perfect for those looking for an interactive classroom experience.

Our On Construction course is one of the more advanced areas of energy assessment, where you will learn how to produce Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) for new build homes. The government’s commitment to build 300,000 new homes per year by the mid-2020s, makes this a particularly exciting area to work in. As an OCDEA you will have a direct impact on the energy performance of new homes through your energy calculations, and your work will contribute towards the UK’s drive towards net zero.

A great route into the industry

This 5-day course provides a great route into the world of new build energy assessment, whether you’re an architect, builder, or someone who is interested in a new career in energy assessment. During the course you will learn how to use SAP software to assess the energy efficiency of new build homes, and, if necessary, select appropriate building services, green technologies and fabric alterations to ensure a building will meet compliance.

Our professional and friendly training is delivered at a pace to suit all individuals and ensures those who attend leave feeling confident about putting what they’ve learned into practice.

Upon successful completion of this course you will be awarded with an ABBE Certification for On Construction Domestic Energy Assessment. Following this you will be able to join Elmhurst’s OCDEA Accreditation scheme, and produce legally valid EPCs.
