BSI has just published a public consultation for PAS 2030+A1 and PAS 2035+A1 amendments.

Please note this is not a complete review of the PAS documents, but a revision to the current versions. Therefore, the scope of the work is defined in the drafts published for consultation.

There are a number of specific changes proposed which have been described as amendments and clarifications that clear up some areas around the retrofit process.

The main headlines spotted by Elmhurst include:

• The proposal is to remove the ‘Retrofit Advisor’ role from the standard. For clarification, retrofit advice must still be given, but appropriately at all points in retrofit projects.
• 1.1 corrected the fact that DEAs are certified and register by a government authorised assessor body not UKAS as stated previously
• 1.2 clears up requirement that Retrofit Assessor doesn’t need to be a RC for risk path B and C – which was not correct in the current version.

BSI are only inviting comments on the changes proposed, to be based on the scope of work supplied separately. Any comments on the rest of the text of PAS 2030 and PAS 2035 are likely to be reserved for the next revision.
