10 Hours CPD |
Suitable for: There is a requirement for those individuals carrying out testing to be a member of the Elmhurst Airtightness Scheme or the Air Tightness Testing and Measuring Association (ATTMA). Training is being offered to those installers who wish to pursue this route.
This two-day course is knowledge based with a practical, live property assessment.
On successful completion you will gain a Certificate of Competency in Background Ventilation Assessment of Existing Buildings allowing you to register with the Elmhurst Airtightness Scheme and use the agreed process to determine if there is a requirement for additional background ventilation when working under PAS 2035 guidelines for Pathways A & B retrofit energy efficiency measures.
Please note, this is not for new build compliance but instead builds on the use of this equipment. This provides a more specific assessment of background ventilation along with a more comprehensive approach to ventilation assessment based on actual performance of the property pre and post installation. This is an approach to address background ventilation requirements under pathway A and B of PAS 2035 and provides an alternative for pathway C whilst not replacing the airtightness testing requirements.
Use of the process can avoid the unnecessary install of trickle vents and door undercuts where sufficient existing background ventilation is proven.
